What is the girlfriend experience?

I ring the buzzer on the hotel door, and adjust my hair briefly. With a smile already on my face, he opens the door.

I greet him with a showy, sugary disposition, and kiss him firmly on the cheek. I'm happy to be here, and he can tell.

"It's so good to see you!" I say and smile sweetly, my grin spreading wider as I spot the chocolate on the table. It's my favourite kind. He's been paying attention, unlike most men you meet online.

"How has your day been?" he queries with genuine interest, and I tell him about my day, but I'm glad the day's almost over and we can finally relax.

He likes cooking, but we're not cooking this evening. I've already eaten and my stomach is gurgling, which we laugh about nip a whisky. We have a few hours to get to know each other and hopefully develop an ongoing connection.

This is the Girlfriend Experience.
